Kienzle membrane pump

As an old aquarium hobbyist, this just caught my eye:

This exact pump, the model "Optimal" by Schego[1], costs exactly 20 Euros at my local aquatics shop.

Did someone buy this pump from Kienzle and if so, is there something special about it? Six times the normal price must warrant something special. Just curious.

Does seem a bit pricey for an aquarium air pump. I'm sure it's a nice unit though. 30+ years back I worked in a chemistry lab, we had a setup that used such a pump to pressurize tanks. These are amazing little pumps. Could be a get what you pay for.

It depends which dor of the factory it comes out of. The Brand name door or brand x door*.

Not true: Both the Schego and the Kienzle pump bear the same Schego label.

However Schego seems to sell the pump without air-tube. Kienzle however offers the pump with PVC tube with one plain end, fitted at the pump, and on the other end puklled-on a short piece of seemingly plain rubber tube to put into the hole of the washer.

Who buys the pump from Shego thus has to find a way to connect it to the washer.
