Perhaps because they're thicker, I find Kentmere Films can be tricky when loading onto the reel for processing. My patience wares thin, as I have to be extra carefull not to knarl the edges....

Kentmere films are made in the same factory as Ilford films and likely has the same base material. They should load the same as Ilford films.

About 9 months ago, I had issues loading a few rolls of FP4+ where one edge of the film would fold over on along the sprocket holes. Once I recognized the problem, I knew to check for this and haven't had any problems. The problem was occurring when I didn't cut the film straight and was not aligning the sprocket holes into the tabs on a Hewes reel. Once I recognized my error, I had no further problems.

Sometimes it seems as if the more experience I get, the more errors I discover.

Kentmere films are roughly the same thickness as other Ilford films, most of the thickness is the same 0.125mm/5-mil Acetate base the actal emulasion coatings vary between 9 to 12 Microns not something you'd notice in practice.
