I do not think ti is the product at all. I leave my prints soaking overnight. Next morning I re-fix, tone wash for an hour then dry on screens emulsion up, lay under glass with weight on top to flatten then dry mount at 170. I have dymounted on 4ply and 2ply.
It isn't the product, I have used Kentmere G2,G3,G4 and Kentmere Kentona.
To be fair, this thread is a year old. Quite a few people posted similar experiences with Kentmere in the past. FWIW there was good reason to believe Kentmere was having QC issues at the time and I experienced them first hand. I found the dimensional stability of the base to be very poor and I never washed my prints for more than 45 min to 1 hr. Fluting along the edges was excessive and caused permanent wrinkles on more than a few occasions when dry mounting. Furthermore, one box of 8x10 diplayed flaking of the emulsion and rough coating defects. I too posted on this issue and received emails from others who experienced similar issues and even one who was left scrambling for an exhibition when his Kentmere paper proved defective. To be fair though, I really do like the image quality and tonality of the paper and feel as though they deserve another chance. I haven't used the paper in about a year but plan on giving it another go. Most people these days give favorable reviews and hopefully the problems are solved.
