Is anyone using these and are they simmilar to any other films. The prices seem good for the 100ft. rolls.

I'm using Kentmere 400 in 35mm and I like it. I've mostly pushed it, and it has good characteristics at 1600 IMO. Very nice blacks.

I've used both the 100 and 400 - if I have to compare them to something, they feel a bit like grainier versions of Ilford FP4 and HP5. They are really fine films, especially for the price.

I'd suggest picking up three or four rolls from B&H for the price and develop in D76 for whatever iso you shoot. If you like grain, they push quite sexily.

Check this if you have some time

There is a pretty extensive thread I started almost exactly two years ago when the lab I worked at started purchasing the film before the official release. It's really hard to believe it has been that long, wow. Anyway, read it if you have time as there are a few good comments from Simon Galley @ Harman. But, for quick reference, on page 15, I have a provided results of a test I did with the film. I used developers that I see very little talk about here at APUG, but it should still give you the rough idea as to results of the film.

First Roll Developed

Shot the first roll of Kentmere 100 at Avebury on (a very grey) Friday morning and developed it that afternoon in the Rodinal R09 (both bought from AG). I used 1+25 @ 20deg C for 9mins with continuous agitation (inversions) for the first minute then one inversion per minute for the first six then glanced at my typed instructions again and realised it should have been every 30secs, which I did for the remainder of the time. Ilfostop and Ilford Rapid Fixer followed and the results (to my inexpert eye) are quite satisfactory. Hopefully when I shoot the next roll, the light will not be so uniformly flat and grey!
