I'm not sure that this is the right forum for this, but it doesn't seem to fit anywhere else...maybe camera modification? Anyway...

Does anyone know anything about this beast? It is a vertical line camera. Its current owner is giving it away. It takes 16*20 film. Vaccuum unit, lens and GG are reported to be good. I figure that the a lens that will cover that size alone is worth picking it up, but it is large (34*41*56 inches) and probably heavy. I can't make forsee much use for it in its current configuration, but would rather modify it to be a landscape or portrait camera, if possible, assuming the owner will still pass it along to me, knowing my intentions.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Would it be feasible to change the camera to better suit the purposes I suggest?

Thanks for any help.

Peter

The lenses will cover 16x20 the way that setup is used. They might not cover at infinity. OTOH free is free. Check what lenses are included.

Odds are you can put the parts to various uses. It's more a question are you willing to invest the time. I almost bought a different machine a few years back. The various parts had some value. But I decided it would just sit around waiting for me to change it into something else.
