Keeping Shadows - Photography 1845 - 2001

For those who may be in the area and interested the Phoenix Art Museum has opened their show Keeping Shadows . This show will run from December 11,2005 until march 12, 2006.

This show is from the Worcester collection and includes work in virtually all disciplines and by most all of the known and even a number of obscure photographers. The print qualities are exquisite.

In addition at the same Museum currently showing is the work by Linda Butler of the Yangzte Remembered - The River Beneath the Lake. Ms. Butler's work is inspiring. This show will be up until Jan. 1, 2006.

This looks like the same show a few of us saw at the Worcester Art Museum last year. It's basically a survey of what the museum has collected over the last twenty-five or so years, and is a very a satisfying survey of the history of photography.

Well worth it!

Speaking of Linda

I would like to recommend Linda Butler's book: "Inner Light: The Shaker Legacy", a remarkable set of pictures of Shaker artifacts, journals, artifacts.
