hello emulsionists!
id like to hear your eyperience on keeping emulsion (foma) liquid for a few hours.
i have read that heating réfrigération heating cycle is totally not oj (fog) but hiw about liquidifying an amount and keeping it liquid (letting it drop to about 25C and then reheating it to 40C 2 more times after.

do you do it and has anybody tested for fog, or how long to keep in waterbath is ok in your workflow?

greets,
chris

Chris, I cannot speak for Foma emulsions, but I know that keeping in this manner depends on emulsion type, gelatin and other ingredients. I generally do not keep an emulsion liquid for more that 1 hour at about 40C. Even then, with one type of gelatin, I see changes but with another I see none with a pure emulsion (Br or Cl) and no other addenda.

and are the changes you see a fog like from exposure because of bad safelight or different?
