Looking over a charity 'market-stall' recently I found three 35mm AF compacts in cases. Two Canon's and a Ricoh, one actually wound-on as I examined it. All basic fixed 35mm focal length. Just the thing for a relation who cannot use 'fiddly modern cameras! Such as elderly folk with stiifening finger joints.
And the lenses on these tend to be faster than zoom models, so they are capable of good low light performance without flash (if you can turn off the flash that is). I use a variety of them from Olympus and Canon and have got quite adept at re-coding film cassettes as I like my HP5+ rated at Ei200.
