Well I've done it now. I managed to put a lovely brown stain, about the size of a quarter, on the bathroom counter top. This has NOT made me very popular with my wife. I'm not sure if it is kallitype emulsion or just silver nitrate. The counter top is ceramic tile, if that makes a difference.
Wait to see if it gets darker. That will tell you about if it is silver.
I use 'tray cleaner' - sorry - can't recall what is in it at the moment
A powerful oxidiser has also worked on the washer and dryer - have not tried it on tile (Yet).
A paste of 'oxyclean' might be a way to start.
Keep it damp under a few cotton batts and leave it in place for a day or so and see if there is any improvement before getting out the heavy duty cleaners.
The oxiclean is working great. I left a paste of it on the counter for several hours and most of the stain is gone. I figure one more treatment and I'll be home free.
Before I posted the question here I tried Ammonia, Chlorox laundry bleach, and even some ferri bleach. None had any effect I could tell. The oxiclean is powerful stuff. The back label say's it contains sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate ( washing soda ). I have one other very small stain and I may try a hydrogen peroxide soaked cotton ball.
I had read that Lysol is effective for cleaning trays, so that may work on your developer spill.
