Kallitype Questions

I am thinking of exploring the Kallitype process as described in the Christopher James Alt photo book.

What are the archival qualities of this process? Will I experience imaging fading if I don't tone the final print?


What density for a digital negative would you recommend? Christopher's book say 1.5 to 1.8
