i was watching the history channel yesterday and it is a well known yet disputed fact that
eratosthenes didn't do the calculation himself but he was being fed them by other-worldly people and using alien technology.
it is also well known the space travelers built the pyramids in egypt, south and north america, the moai in the pacific
and were the priestly class of many early peoples. i think you need to give credit to where credit is due, sir ..

Columbus did not sail to prove the earth is round, that's a legend concocted after the fact. He sailed in search of profit, and he didn't even know where he had been!

Come on, you know that letter idea is stupid. Do you have any evidence that such a letter made any difference in the decisions of a big company?

It doesn't matter what they thought. What matters is what they found.

Of course the letter would be ridiculous. It is sarcasm. You would not convince Kodak of anything, just like you are not going to convince anyone here of a Kodachrome revival because your ideas are baseless. Therefore, continuing to post here about it is just as ridiculous. So what is the point?

There's a full-size processing machine in a secret chamber under the Great Pyramid, along with 1000 years worth of chemicals and a hundred million pallets of film in all formats from 16mm to 8x10". Due to the special properties of pyramids the storage life is infinite, but if anyone enters the chamber their faces melt and they burst into flames like in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Yes, that is the same article. Odd, I have never subscribed to the Tribune yet never got the subscription page you mention. Then again, I do have a highly tweaked browser and lots of different plug-ins. I'll have to make sure to review the URLs I paste in the future.

Ok ....I can't download the full movie from the net - but I will find a source to do it later on (for less....)
If Kodachrome will come back is a simple speculation : You will need a specific mass of people who might use this film to a calculated price.
I have an idea that these people indeed have to be others than the most of some posters here
The potential of a future marked is given for sure - but you will need one prerequisite : It has to be "cool" to shot with film and it has to be more "cool" to shot with Kodachrome !!! - you simple need a hype on Kodachrome film.....
Remember apple computers in the past - they came with new technology and more and more directors used avid systems to cut their movies. To this time I asked : "Why do they not work with x86 systems or with silicon graphics workstations are they not able to support. .....?" They simple answer was : " They all use apple systems because they like it - it is just "cool".
Remember Steve Jobs statement (2008) to the early mega hype on tablet computers : "A product nobody need, no other company is able to sell, and everybody must have"........

PS : Kodachrome has the potential to create a hype on this specific emulsion - the only question is "when" - from my point.

Thanks! The name “Old Reliable” came from my grandfather, who drag raced Chevy’s and Dodge’s back in the early 60’s to about 1974. He sadly passed away of a heart attack well before I was born, so I thought I’d honor him. A good bit of the Kodachrome’s that our family has we’re taken at and around NHRA events. All those cars still look gorgeous!

.....Nice to hear "Oldreliable". I can imagine the feelings one could have to count on old stuff wich is still working (in your case also : important family shots ) ......and I indeed could imagine opposite feelings one might have with lost colors of unreliable films (after decades) or (much more worst) a total lost from digital datas.

PS : How bad must NASA officials felt from the lost of original "Saturn5" construction plans (digital stored on early magnetic tapes) I remember such Monster tape machines from the Air Force (somewhere around 2 inch wide tapes).

Brian you simple should " think big " who cares about a delay of some month. ....
1) Tmax3200
2) Ektachrome100
3) Ektachrome 64 (EPR)
4) Kodachrome. ......yes and that should be your question now:
