Hello! I'm a rather young photographer looking for adapters for lenses. I had an old Ricoh XR-P with a Rikenon lens (1:4 28~100mm Macro 670 ) which the camera itself had broken. I really enjoyed the Rikenon lens and would like to use it on my Pentax SP 1000 I recently bought. The problem however, Is that the Rikenon is a K-mount and the SP1000 is a m42 mount. I looked for an adapter that is appropriate but only found the opposite, An adapter for K-mount bodies to use a m42 screw mount lens. Does anyone have any suggested adapter and links to them? Any help is greatly appreciated! -Ryan

Afaik it doesn't exist. The K mount is larger in diameter than m42, so any adapter would miss infinity by quite a bit.
However, there are many excellent m42 lenses out there for very little money - Takumars, the SMC 55s for instance, are top notch and cheap.

I've just tried a few companies who I thought could help but there is not an adapter listed that you require. Loads for the other way around though.

The main company that I checked is the following link, who also make bespoke items but if it's at all possible it probably won't be cheap as a one off request. You could ask though.

And this link is an interesting read, explaining the ins and outs and one persons work around, that might be useful.

Bottom line though I think, is to buy a cheap camera that will take the lens you like and / or buy a / some cheap k mount lenses to fit your k mount camera body.
