I understood. For about 15 years I kept seeing a vintage Lotus Cortina offered locally at a ridiculous price. Once a year it was listed. If it was a good priced Ii would have bought. But no negotiation possible. The story: wife...

when it stopped being listed for sale I called and enquired if he’s ready to deal or decided to keep. The guy “sold the wife” instead.

The number of items I've purchased by putting a bug in the spouses ear that I'm interested in buying is comedic.

"I don't want to sell" turns into "How much would you offer?" after the "big talk" happens.

As I said-- doing a bit more research, they're probably legitimate.

But what I was referring to is this:

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/bh8AAOSw1KRb2D3e/s-l1600.jpg

I'm not uploading the image, because it's not worth it. But every one of these listings has a "Certificate" among the images, and everyone of them uses 3 i's in the word "Certificate". Someone obviously made a typo in the template. And yes, I'm familiar with the old excuse "Not everyone speaks English as a first language", and on a forum, it's excusable. But if I'm advertising a $40 thousand dollar camera in an English market, you'd better believe I will find SOMEONE who speaks English flawlessly and get them to do a spell check.

Had a similar experience. My son found an old truck that had an interesting engine & transmission combination. We went to look at it and realized it was wildly over priced for the condition that it was in. The guy had several other very interesting vehicles in his garage so, I kinda suspected that he was aware of the actual value of this thing. My son was undeterred...so, while he's crawling around under, in and above this old truck, I pulled the seller aside and asked him what the deal was...he just said, that his wife told him that he had to sell one before he could buy another.

Maybe it is the certificate that is the prototype, not the camera!

Maybe he needed a book that had correct spellings of words like "paraPHERnalia"?
