A bit of GAS I couldn't resist. Came with hood and filters, but was not functioning - Front element and shutter speed ring was jammed. Sorted that, replaced a spring on the door catch, adjusted the rangefinder slightly, cleaned the tiniest bit of fungus off the centre element (acetic acid - stop- did the trick). We'll see how the first film turns out.
I wanted a folder with a built in rangefinder, but wasn't willing to pay what super ikonta's go for and this came along. Seems pretty good quality. The lens is a schneider kreuzenach radionar 1:2.9 in a compur synchro. It's a cooke triplet.
That looks like my Tower 66 made for Sears by Franka Solida. I'm pleased with mine. The only issue with mine is the shutter sticks on B. The Radionar is nice stopped down a little.
How did you adjust the rangefinder? Mine has a little slop and I find it a little difficult to use due to the size.
It was reading slightly short, particularly on the near distances. I managed to get a small bent tip screwdriver onto the adjuster screw and give it a tweak. Now the near distances are much more accurate, although infinity doesn't quite line up. Not too bothered about that - it is the near distances that are more critical. I guess the cam wheel which looks to be aluminium has worn slightly.
