Hi All,

I've been a bit scarce lately due to a recent home sale, search, repurchase and now starting the moving process (partial move next week finishing end of the month). I know why every time I do this I say 'never again!', quite the ordeal as many of you know. However, our area in the city had a booming market, so we decided to offload and get rid of some of the mortgage. The next place is semi-rural on the outskirts but still close to town, really looking forward to it. I'm still around and checking in, maintaining the server, but dealing with the move a bit longer.

Thanks,
Sean

I sympathize with you Sean, the last time we downsized was when our children left home 30 years ago this month ( how time flies ) and we have no intention of ever doing it again.

Sean - good luck with the move.
If you are like us, it will at least result in your getting rid of or finishing a bunch of things that you have been meaning to deal with for a while!:whistling:
Any chance of a darkroom in the new place?

Sometimes it is scary, but in the end you and your family will be happier.

Once you get settled, unpack all boxes. Although I've been in my house for nearly 20 years, I have still-unpacked boxes that have been untouched across several moves since 1978.

Found an unused bulk load of Plus-X in one along with a box of unused RC printing paper.

Sean, I know the pain only too well. My brothers and I thought we'd be getting "Bekins Moving" jackets for Christmas one year.......
I'm sure it is the reason once we got our own homes none of us have ever moved out of our original purchases after 40 years......:D
Good Luck......

From Down Under to the Long White Cloud. Best of luck with the move! There is no better way known to get rid of excess "stuff".:whistling:

Everything movable was taken out of our house when they removed the old, worn-out carpet and refinished the hardwood floors. We have been "moving in" for the past year. We are still unpacking stuff that neither my wife nor I ever remember seeing before. Still trying to get all of the "stuff" out of my print finishing room so I can frame what I print again...... Sean, wish there was some way we could have a "house warming" party for you and your family, after you have completed your move. Do please accept our best wishes.......Regards to all!

Mixed congratulations and sympathy. Nothing worse than moving but your new digs seem to be very pleasant...especially about the darkroom. Your post reminded me that I must renew my subscription.

Good luck with the move, Sean. If all goes well, next year I’ll be moving to the other side of the pond (a.k.a. Atlantic Ocean)!

1 week till the move... we've been working pretty hard yet feel like we're still only 20% ready :pinch:
I'm not going to do this again for a very long time, it's crazy. Looking forward to getting back to normal!

Been there done that. Its hard to imagine just how much has to be done to move all your possesions, sometimes you just have to pack as you go.
