Jupiter 12 on Canon L1/L2/L3?

The internet informs (so it must be true!) that the rear glass on the Jupiter 12 (35mm f/2.8) won't clear the internal baffles on the Canon P. Does anyone have direct experience with this lens on the Canon L1 (or L2 or L3)?

I use one with an L1, there isn't much room between the rear element and the upper baffle, but it does clear it.

Very slightly 'scuffs' the baffles on my Canon 7 ..

I have a 1975 Jupiter 12 (at least the first two digits of serial number are 75) and it clears the baffles on my L2. I've used them together and there are no marks on the lens. I remember reading something about different models of the J12. Mine is black but it might have been the chrome ones that don't clear.

Following up - An all-black Jupiter-12, s/n 900xxxx, arrived today. I attempted to mount it on my L2, s/n 519xxx, with the shutter activated (curtains open) on T and the back open so I could see what was going on. Sorry to say, it hits the top baffle before the lens is completely screwed in.

I'll update this thread if I happen to find other bodies that the J12 fits.

The baffles of the 7 and P can be bent out of the way. Probably that's also possible on the earlier models.

I have a black Jupiter-12 35mm sn 83nnnn, and it screws all the way into a Canon 7 and L2. The side of the rear lens element just touches the upper baffle, but it doesn't stop the lens from screwing in, nor was a bright mark left after I unscrewed it. Not something I'd want to mount and unmount several times a day, maybe, but it should work. It may be that it's just close enough that some lenses hang up on some bodies.

I tried it on a bottom-load body and it seemed to go in ok, but on such a body you can't easily see what is happening inside the chamber, or how much clearance between lens and shutter.

My J12 has serial number 750xxxx and the L2 is 527xxx. I mounted the J12 on the L2 and I could slide a strip of paper between the lens and the upper and lower light baffles on the camera. This said, there is a mark on the top baffle and there is some paint missing on the lens. Whether the marks were on the J12 and the L2 before I can't really say. I don't use this combination very much any more.

Now I made a mark on the paper corresponding to the film plane of the L2 to see where the paper hit something, and it corresponds to the upper baffle. So the lens itself clears the baffles on my L2 but the black part of the lens (right before the part that moves in and out as you focus) is probably striking the baffle. The lens measures 28.89 mm by the glass but the part with the mark is 29.98, so it is slightly larger. These measurements fluctuate a bit (+ or - 0.02 mm) depending on how I hold the digital calipers. At least for my combination, it looks like the lens itself clears the baffles but it is the mount that eventually makes contact.
