Hi! My name is Suzanne and I heard about this forum a few weeks ago. I looked around a bit and know that a lot of what is here is way over my head but I really look forward to learning and sharing!
I shoot mainly 35mm. I have dabbled very recently in medium format with an old folder camera, an Agfa Isolette. I have been shooting and learning for about 5 years.
I noticed in the gallery that most people develop and print their own work. Is this a requirement for this board? I don't have a darkroom yet but plan to at some point in the future.
I really look forward to being a part of this forum!
Hello Suzanne, may I be the first to welcome you here and I'm sure your have a great time. Developing and /or printing your own isn't a requirement, but it's a lot of fun and it's the only way to get the best out of your negatives

A LOT of the "stuff" here is over my head as well ... some is just not significant to what I do, so I don't spend a great deal of time internalizing it.
No real requirements here, other than I wouldn't mess with hard pornography.
Welcome Suzanne,
This is a great place to learn and meet interesting people. The only requirement I can think of is a love of Traditional (Ananlog) Photography.
Enjoy your visits here.

Hi Suzanne and welcome! What's great about this board is that it's a very comfortable place to ask questions, learn, and be assured that your participation is welcome at whatever level you find yourself. What is certain is that that level will advance considerably after spending even a little time here! Again...welcome!
Hello Suzanne. Welcome. I do not understand what time differences are applied to the postings we see (if any) but there seem to be a few people burning the midnight oil !!
that Agfa Isolette looks to be a great machine ( Dead Link Removed ). I've started to work with Mamiya Press 23 this august and it is an interesting experience, to work again with 6x9. Who / where you develop and print your pictures?
Welcome! Don't worry if there's stuff here which is over your head; I've been involved with photography for 40+ years; some of what I read here well beyond my experience.
Thought you might like to hear from one of the 'fairer' members of the APUG family! Always glad to greet another analog shooter, and to increase the female presence here!
This is a GREAT group and they answer any & all questions! Why just the other day, I asked how to put film in my camera.... haha
Looking forward to seeing your prints in the galleries!

I, too, have a lot of the stuff going over my head in here. Mostly technical stuff about Large Format, but then; I'm not into LF, so I don't care that much. I'm mostly into developing and printing 35mm negatives and I am big fan of Agfa Rodinal developer and has quite some experience with it.
Welcome to the site and I hope you post a lot so we can keep the site active.
