John Gutmann!

I`ve recently purchased John Gutmann`s "Culture Shock" book, previously one "unknown" photographer, now an admired image maker as far as I`m concerned.

John Gutmann was a terrific photographer. He came to America from Germany during the depression, and, unlike the FSA photographers for example, he thought this was a wonderful, rich country where everyone had a car. First saw a show of his work in the late '70's, and have been a fan since.
I didn't know about the book. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Dean
