I just got a copy of The North by John Bulmer and it's great.

I knew about the famous 1965 Sunday Times Magazine article which was in colour (I have a copy) but most of the other photos are new to me. About 2/3 of the book is made up of B&W photos from various assignments north.
Most interesting for me is to compare the 1965 photos taken on Ektachrome X and the later 1976 photos taken on Kodachrome. The latter are so bright and sharp they could have been taken yesterday whereas the former have a real soft feel to them. I don't know if that is because they were taken in the winter and the '76 shots are in the summer or if time hasn't been kind to the Ektachrome. Either way, a great book full of fascinating photos.
