Hi everyone

I'm so glad that I have joined Apug.
My first topic, hopeful someone will help me. I've bought sometime age a cpe2 processor with two drums. Well the aim was for 4x5 films, so got everything, but I've been trying figure out how to load or what I'm missing in terms of 4x5 films. I've got a jobodrum 4541 and totally don't have a clue how to put films inside. I know it takes 4 but, do I need something spare not just the drums itself. Can't find any of rails or anything which would hold films somehow. So would someone be so kind and tell how on earth load 4x5 film to this drum. Many thanks.

You probably figured it out already, but since I had a 4541 and a couple sheets of tri-x I gave it a try. The trick is to wedge the film in between the ribs running along the inside of the drum. You'll see that some of the ribs are higher than the others - they are the ones you want to use. I made a dry run first so I could load it in the dark but it's easy once you get the hang of it. I used about 32 oz. of D76 1+1, 10 minutes at 68F, continuous agitation for two 8x10 sheets and my negs look fine. This is a good daylight tank for large formats.

Welcome to APUG

Put the emulsion side in, not facing the tube walls.
