Jobo Tank for 4 rolls 120 film on 2 2502 reels ?

I am having trouble determining which jobo tank is designed to process 2 2502 reels holding 2 rolls of 120 each. I can go with the 2500 multitank 2 for one reel holding 2 rolls or a Multitank 5 for 3 reels holding 6 rolls. Is there any option in between? Also I have a CPE2, and doing 6 rolls in a Multitank 5 will exceed its max 600ml capacity.

I also know I can drop down to the 1500 tanks and reels- but it’s seems the options are the same . A1500 unitank will hold 1 reel with 2 rolls of 120 or, by adding the 1530 tank Modul to it, it again handles 6 120 rolls ( while staying slightly under the 600ml limit). But I prefer the 2500 reels and seem to get more consistent results.

So - am I out of luck in this quest? Or have I over looked something?

Which developer are you using? For some developers, 600 ml is enough for 6 rolls.

I have been using sprint but will transition to Rodinal shortly.

That’s what I suspected - the 2553 is the Multitank 5, which I have and does 6 rolls/3 reels, unfortunately.

I'll let the Rodinal devotees weigh in on minimum necessary quantities of syrup/roll.

A tank or combo that would take 4x 135 would bring you onto the safe side.

I fill the tanks up with replenished XTOL and never have problems. Washed film is rinsed in PhotoFlo after the film has been removed from the reels and placed into another container.

A 1540, (1510 tank + 1530 module) will work perfectly for 4 rolls of 120.

I don't think You would have a problem with 640mL on your CPE, you can put 2 rolls on 1 reel and 1 on two other reels.

I've found that, for me, the 1500 series reels are easier to load. Probably because these are the closest to Paterson in diameter.

Thanks, I have tried that - though I had two rolls on two reels and left the third empty. My last batch like this had a problem with a spot that looks like the chems failed to reach adequately - but I may try again.

The older literature for Jobo lists chemistry volumes for half full and full reels of 120. It was never clear to me if it was coverage or capacity related.
I usually use more chemistry than the minimum with Jobo.

The method Matt King describes is pretty hard to beat. Gizmos have always been easy to sell to shutterbugs.

If you have two rolls develop them together. If you one have have one just go ahead and develop it anyway.

Yeah, but my goal was to find the most Effie isnt way to develop 4 rolls….
