Jobo processed Pan F Plus in XTOL 1+2 works fine

I was running a test roll through my Mamiya 7ii to check focus with the 150mm lens and I'm not sure I've seen this combination discussed much online so a bit of a tech note:

Jobo CPP-3. Pan F Plus @ EI 25 (Pentax Digital Spotmeter). 6 minutes @ 24ºC. XTOL 1+2 - seems to work fine as a starting point. I've not used this combination before and am not making any claims about XTOL being the best developer for the film etc. Also I used 80ml stock solution (+ 160ml water), which is 20% below the minimum recommended amount by Kodak.

Be careful with the minimum amount. This will get you sooner or later. I love XTOL.

I'm concerned about this as well. The Jobo is a good piece of equipment but can make it tricky to use certain developers for some black & white films due to the low solution volumes required, especially when developing a single film. Pan F Plus in XTOL 1+1 would produce too short of a development time at my process temperature of 24ºC.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to provide us with a new "gold" standard - times for X-Tol using the special "Kershaw" X-Tol dilution: 1 + 1.4!

Sometimes I will use a longer tank than required. You end up using a little more developer. Your results look good.

There are 1+2 and even 1+3 dilutions used in, I think, Covington Innovations.

Interesting that Tom successfully used 20% less stock Xtol than Kodak recommends. Seeing the results will be useful but in 120 I think Tom may have squared the circle by a Jobo 120 tank. He gets close to the Kodak recommendation and still maintains the economy of rotary processing. Kodak used to list 1+2 and I have a feeling that 20% less at 80ml of stock will be OK for a 120

Rotary processing at even 1+1 for 35mm requires only 140ml so 70ml stock might be "pushing the boundaries".1+2 in rotary mode would really seem a very high risk

Next time I will try 100ml XTOL + 150ml water. My usual dilution is 1+1, but Pan F Plus times get really short at this ratio. I'll also reduce process temperature to give a bit more room for manoeuvre.
