Just picked up a used Jobo Process Timer 8. Seems pretty straightforward but I would like to find an instruction manual. Anyone have any leads? Thanks.

Actually, you really don't need a manual. It is very simple. as you've probably already discovered thru 'tinkering' with it.
Just dial-in each step and press the start/stop button twice to advance to the next step. Continue until all your desired steps are programmed, then press the green reset to come back to the first and your done. From here its all ready to start timing for you. I have the manual and I just gave you the entire contents, it's only 2 small pages.
The thing I don't really use is the up-count for the rinse cycles. I just jump to the next step when the previous is done, by pressing stop.

Thanks for the info. That is about what I thought.

A few questions:

  1. Is it possible to zero out the steps? Mine seems to stick at about 7 seconds and seems a bit gimpy.
  2. Is it possible to make the steps move from one to the next automatically without having to touch the timer?
  3. I noticed a socket for a foot switch but I can't remember seeing one for sale. Any leads on the foot switch?
Thanks.

Hi
I just checked mine and it does not zero. It stops at 9 seconds. the manual says they can range from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. The keyword here is 'can'.
The only way to advance is either button presses or a foot switch. My best guess is put an e-mail search for one on Ebay and you'll get notification when one comes up for auction. See, the problem here is that its got analog controls for the time input with a digital output. Thats why you can't go directly to zero. Sometimes they drift, you'll see the display blinking intermitently. I've never had any issues with that. It works fine. I use mine all the time in combo with another timer for various processes.

Thank you. Very helpful. I appreciate it.

I don't really like the ergonomics of a Gralab 900 but it is the only process timer I know of that will move from one step to another and then reset itself. Useful with the Jobo CPP but I prefer the Jobo process timers for use with paper trays.

Just bought a spare Gralab 900 (the buzzer on mine does not work well) on Ebay for $29. It is in perfect shape but the user had taped some fluorescent material over some of the buttons so it looked rough but now looks mint. One of my better Ebay purchases.

My wife is getting exasperated with me. Now I have a Gralab 900 (2), Jobo Process timer 8, Jobo Multitronic, Jobo Colorline 5000, Gralab 451, Gralab 300, and a Time-O-Lite. Now that I can measure it, all I need is time itself.

LOL
Your not in the boat alone! Just bought a Beseler 23CIII Variable Contrast Head on Ebay. Great deal $53. Costs $549 here in NY, condition is excellent. The wife is unaware. They just don't understand. I guess I should beware!

I think they understand all too well. Unfortunately, my wife gets home from work before I do so she intercepts all packages. I have no secrets.
