I just scored a CPA2 at a tag sale. The serial Nr. puts it in the range that JoBo calls: "1st Upgrade: Changed single bearing rotation motor to a double bearing rotation motor. Serial # 10313 - 13309" Do I really need complete the remaining two upgrades to successfully use a 3006 tank? Do the "black low resistance rollers" make a big difference? Thanks!

Tim,

Try it first.

My CPA was the first release and I upgraded it with a new motor after I found it had trouble turning the 3005 drums. It worked fine for the 3010 and 3006 drums.

When I upgraded the motor I had to upgrade a board inside also to handle the motor. But at the time Jobo support was great.

Just a word of advice, not all new parts fit exactly in the older CPA. Last year I had to replace the pump and it's wires were conected to the new CPAs differently then mine. It just means sometime you have to make the connection or change the wire connector to make it connect.
