Jobo Drum series for CPE2+

Hello!

I just got a Jobo CP2+ with lifter and I am looking for some Jobo drums.
I am confused and I don't know what looking for... 1500, 2500, 2800, 3000 series... what is the difference between these models?
I need a tank for developing 135 and 120 color films and a tank for proofing and one to print 11x14 in color.
What should I get?

Dear Indio,

Assuming you mean a CPE2+, the 2500 series is the most convenient for film. The 2502 reels will handle both 35mm and 120 film. If you have a CPP2+ (at least I think that's a real designation) you can use the 3000 series for sheet film. The 2800 series is for paper but I have never used one.

What I've seen suggests the EXPERT tanks won't work, that's 3000 series.

The 1500 series is the most economical tank for 35 and 120. You can do 2 rolls of 120 on one reel or 2 reels of 35mm in one 1520 tank. There are lots of different size tanks and extension tubes for more rolls at one time.

You also need to make sure you have the right rollers. The 1500 series drums require little extension arms on the roller, the 2500 series use the same roller base without the extension arms.

Jobo still sell the spares if you need the extension arms for the rollers.

There is quite a big jump in price from the 1500 to 2500 series tanks and the 2500 uses more chemicals too.

I've stuck with the 1520 tank and have had no problems with it in my CPE2+. I see no reason to upgrade to a 2500 series drum as everything works fine for me and the chemical savings add up quickly.
