Jobo CPP 2 and Jobo 3006

I have an older style Jobo CPP 2 (serial number in the 12xxxx series) - not one with an upgraded motor. I use the 25xx/28xx series drums. I've read that the units like mine (lower serial numbers without the upgraded motor) might not be able to handle the expert drums, but I am wondering it it can handle a 3006 short expert drum that can process 6 4x5 sheets with any difficulty? Does the issue only exist with the larger expert drums or all expert drums?

Hi Mike,

I've used both the 4x5 and 8x10 Expert Drums on my older style CPP2 without a single motor issue since I bought it new in the mid-90's. That said, I don't run my Jobo everyday or even once-a week on a regular basis and I can't remember running either Expert Drum at max liquid capacity more than a dozen or so times over all those years. Those facts may be the reason I've never run into the motor issue.

Thank you! I don't process heavily either, and it being a short drum I'd think would not put a great stress on the older motors.

I have a CPP2 and the 3010 Expert Drum and have used both together for years without a problem.

I forgot to mention...If you start using any Expert Drum, regardless of total volume in tank, I would highly recommend using your right hand to lift the struts under the tank as you pull the lift handle. Many of folk have bent their lift rod.

Mine came with a broken lift lever, so I always firmly grasp the struts. Lifting the drum can cause it to snap loose.

On my CPP-3 I always support larger tanks while operating the lift handle. The Jobo does not seem that robust...
