After I completely rebuilt the electronics in my (shared darkroom's actually) old CPA2 I was able to solve all problems related to rotation but a new issue arrived with the pump. If I leave it to sit in the water bath after a couple days it just jets stuck. You can hear it "buzz" if you turn it on but no rotation. I have then to drain the unit (a huge pain since it has no drain faucet!), dry it up, dismantle it, dismantle the pump housing, slightly wipe it and it starts to work perfectly after. It then runs flawlessly and quietly for hours, until I leave it sit a day until the next session. It is the fourth time it gets stuck!
This is a major annoyance, as I want to use the jobo without having to drain it each time in a couple days of use (assuming it wouldn't still get stuck), and I can't figure out how the pump, submersed into water, can get stuck! When I open the unit and move it by hand it is always free to rotate! I have the repair manual but I could not find any info on pump maintenance or lubrication (maybe I missed it? but the submersed part of the pump needs lubrication?), so any ideas are welcome...
