I've gotten this colorline 7000 working well with color printing. I tried to get it work with BW printing, but so far, it is not working.
So for the few folks who still use the ColorStar and Colorline, please pitch if have some pointers.
I tried to calibrate my Polycontrast paper. I've printed with that paper and I know it works well. I printed a couple of test prints of the grey test negative. The calibration was pretty quick and the calibration ended after 4 test prints. I also did the slope and it ended with just one print. I got that channel set at 462, with the original default at 400.
Then I put in a 6x4.5 negative I'd like to print. I found the grade (set to VC grade 5). The filter is then set at maximum magenta (which is correct according to Ilford VC table). The exposure is at 9 seconds, F8 with the Saunders 4550 XLG.
But the test print came out to be black, severely over-exposed.
So my question is that, why the system can be calibrated, but the exposure controller (Colorline 7000) is not working properly.
