jobo c41 with fuji chemistry???

Hey, I'm going to start developing a semi-consistent amount of c-41 at home on my jobo cpp2 and am looking for some clarification on specifics.

I plan to buy the following fuji chemistry:

• developer-
  • Starter- #600005425
  • Replenisher- #600021524
• Bleach-
  • starter-#600021544
  • replenisher- #600005463 this or the one bellow.
  • Regenerative/ replenisher- #600021543
• Fix- #600021552
• Rinse- #600021601

I plan to buy a lab grade PH reader, tetenal anti oxidizer, and smaller containers to store chems in. I also plan to use them chems one-shot except for the bleach bc it is much more expensive.
My questions are:

1. Do I follow the normal 3min 15sec dev time at 37.8C with constant agitation?
2. should i pre rinse the tank (w/film) with 38.7C water to bring it up to temp or should i just go straight into dev?
   
3. I will be using the tetanol spray to keep the chems lasting longer (hopefully it will make them seem "unopened") and in the scenario that i dont dev. for a long period of time I will want to check the PH before use to see if the chems are still good. obviously i want the PH to read what the spec sheet list but, if it is over or under the listed value can i replenish the chem to bring it back to life? if so will that be for a low PH or a High PH?

With a Jobo Kodak's recommendation is to use chemistry one shot. I do one shot with developer and fixer. I reuse bleach, replenished. Water wash after fixer, followed by final rinse.

I'm still using up Kodak developer replenisher and bleach.

You need Fuji's bleach that works with C-41RA, this is the version for minilabs, bleach is much faster, I use 2 minutes but I think you can go down to 1 minute.

I just looked around the internet. I think the C41RA Fujifilm chemistry is rather hard to come by in the US, so the bleach replenisher you are looking at should work fine. The regeneration version is not what you want.

I wonder if Kodak (SinoPromise) has abandoned the US market?

Yes

No. But this depends as you can tell from Sirius' response. Some people like a pre rinse. If you encounter problems with uneven development, you can try adding a pre rinse if you're not using one or vice versa.

Why bother. The developer is cheap, so use one shot. The bleach is stable; just replenish a bit more than the spec sheet says and you're good. The fixer you can also easily use one shot as it's also cheap. I use RA fixer at a dilution of 1+6 or so (so more dilute than official) for 3m15 (so longer than the Fuji docs say) a d discard after use.

I've never seen the need for a pH meter for big brand C41 chemistry in a home setting and frankly if this is about hedging against problems, it will only cover a small part off them and not the most essential ones. E.g. developer oxidation will fly past your pH checks undetected and cause trouble, hence my suggestion to use the developer one shot.

No - they are trying to get materials in order to manufacture the product, and reliable shipping in order to get the product to North America.
The supply chain problems remain and are formidable.

I agree with using C-41 developer one-shot, having experimented with replenishment and rotary processing in the past, and found that poor results can creep up on you, i.e not immediately problematic negatives, but poor colour quality on further investigation.

I found some Kodak C-41 RA fixer at Unique Photo, I ordered late yesterday. I really like the packaging and quality of Kodak branded chemistry for C-41 and RA4. This must be logistics, SinoPromise has been making this chemistry for years. Nothing revolutionary.
