i'm having some problems with my machine when trying to run it on c41 mode.
in a nutshell the machine won't cycle through its process. the drum will rotate back and forth, but no regents will sloes into the tank, neither will the tank empty. also the water bath doesn't warm up on its own, nor will the water bath led come on. however on cleaning mode everything works as it should; bottles empty, tank empties even the water bath led comes on.

i did notice a faint wiff of shellac, (possible motor burnout) but couldn't locate the source? could it be the water bath circulation pump or the element at fault?

any ideas on the cause and possibe remidies much appreciated.

comet water pump

i have taken the jobo apart and discovered the waterbath circulation pump has failed. on close inspection the pump has seased up with gunk. my problem now is where to get hold of a suitable replacement. for those not in the know the pump is a 12v imersion, of the type probably used in tropical fish tanks. i am having problems finding the manufacturer of this pump made by comet, or a supplier.

can anyone tell me where to get a replacement?

Here is a link for some aquarium pumps. I don't see any 12VDC types but maybe something can be adapted??

Pumps

I also found this link Comet Pumps

If they are the manufacturer, they may have a equivalent model on hand.

I hope this helps...

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunatly they arn't the same manufacturer. however i got a lucky break which took me to a well known online auction, the listing was for a comet eligence. the listing gave me the spec;
a 12v submersible, 8 ltr min water pump.

its commonly used in caravans, from there i was able to obtain a couple of spares for a caravan supplier for the small some of £12 each. not bad considering a certain uk repair shop wanted £60 + vat and carriage!!!

Glad you have got sorted Jonathon.

I have used a submersible Whale pump for caravan water supplies to pump water (at 38 degC or 20 deg C for B+W) from plastic jerry can via 12v Jack plug on the ATL-1000 instead of plumbing it all in.

Mine seems to have a slight leak, which I can live with, but am about to start contemplating stripping down to investigate.

Hi Baxter

I should have mentioned that the pump wasn't for the rinse ie external, but fits inside the waterbath. If you take off the coverplate under the lid you will find it tucked in a small resese. In fact the space it fits in is so tight that it would be difficult to find an alternative.

Good luck with fixing the leak. I would recomend getting a hot melt glue gun, it works woders for a multitude of problems such as yours.
