hello all,
thanks for all the help in the last few days. i lucked out and picked up an jobo alt 2 from my local pro lab. he happened to have it so i took it. i got drums and reels for most everything i need except 8x10. i did get a 2583 and 2560 drums. they have ridges inside. can i use these to process some 8x10 films?
my main question is about repairing the alt 2. i am in the process of setting it up to test it. the lab told me there may be a timer problem with the unit. the lift and the temp are supposed to work fine. i am hoping it is easy to repair, or maybe i can do some kind of a manual override just to get me going. any ideas? anyone go a wiring diagram or a link to one? i am in 12401 in NY about 2 hours from NYC. any repair people nearby?
i have read the manual (now my head hurts) and i will try and get it up and running and see what happens....maybe it will be fine......who knows?
no matter what i will be processing some films soon. i had been asking about DIY methods. now with the drums and reels i will try those ideas if the unit will not function. i got a good enough deal that it was worth the gamble if it does not work. as always thanks for all the help!

That's what I use. For 5x7", 8x10", 9.5x12" and 12x16".

They're really made for developing prints, but the old manuals also included advice on developing films. I guess this was dropped when they introduced the "Expert" tanks...

If you can't fix it would you resell it to me? What I would to is to replace the entire control system with a computer.
