Forget the loader and use the reels solo. The trick is to feel the entrance to the film slots (2x3 on each reel) with the leading edge of your sheet film. Then push the sheet film into the slot. Take care not to put two pieces of film in one slot. This can only be done if you're wearing cotton gloves.
I've had lots of problems with this loader - mainly, starting 120 film because of the curl. I finally gave up and went to the 2502 reels and hand loaded. I guess if you have fairly new film and lots of patience, you can be successful but for me...??
Thanks, I picked up a lot of 2502 used but they have not arrived yet.
I struggle with plastic reels having used stainless since I was a kid but I want to try and do all roll film in Jobo 2500 tanks if I can.
I have adapted some stainless reels for the 1500 and 2500 series tanks and they system works really well but uses a lot of soup compared to 2502 or 2501 reels.
