Well colour me vibrant!

Apparently Jessops print onto Ilfo/Cibachrome from slides for you! I really wasn't aware that any high street chain did this, especially in this day and age. That makes getting some of my slides enlarged a much more doable possibility. Has anyone had any experience with getting their slides printed with Jessops? Or would it be best to let a cottage industry handle it instead?

I'm going to go into my local next week and ask the staff, but since they don't know what Fuji Reala is or Kodak Ektar, I seriously doubt if they will have ever heard of Cibachrome.

I have never seen Jessops advertise this which if it a new service you'd expect it to. I think Steve's comments may reflect the situation in which case Jessops is the middleman and presumably expects the middeman's cut so a check on comparable prices with the few professional Ilfochrome printers left may be worthwhile.

Still I suppose we should be grateful that in this day and age Jessops have even contemplated providing this service.

Thanks Benjiboy for doing the leg work for me! I would go to find out myself, but our nearest Jessops is a long bus ride away. Hopefully, if I get into university, when I make a break for the big city. It would be incredibly convient if I could get my slides printed and sent to my soon-to-be local branch. Perkeleellinen, I think you must be right that its all contracted out, but the convience of having them delievered to a local branch would just simply be the easy life. I'd rather a small trek into town than to chase up my mail with *Shudder* the student accomodation people. Despite that though, just incase it does prove to be too good to be true, I am going to follow your advice Pentaxuser and compare what else is avaliable. Has anyone get any suggestions for a good Ilfochromist or has first hand experience with Jessops?

I tried and compared a couple a few years ago. The prints from some were rather dull looking, but I've had consistently good results from BPD Photech.

These days I tend to use 'alternative' techniques to get prints from reversal.

Just a quick note to say that BPD are only offering Ilfochrome until the end of the year, then they are doing a sort of hybrid thing using a drum scanner and a machine called a ZBE Chromira printing onto a high gloss Fujiflex paper. I'm thinking about sending some slides in soon and then the same ones again next year to see the difference.
