This documentary was my first encounter with Jeff Carter's work. Some of his B&W work reminded me of the work of Dorothea Lange or John Ford's movie version of The Grapes of Wrath. Great work and apparently a very humble person. I hope he got the recognition he certainly deserves during his lifetime. What a pity that the documentary was so short. I could have watched this for hours. Is anyone aware of a book containing Jeff Carter's photographs?I can't figure out whether I'm seeing some nostalgic view of Australia when I believe that he portrays our country better than any other photographer ever has. I can't speak for the rural scenes, but as one who grew up on the Northern Beaches I believe that he really nailed that society.
