Is there such a things as an Internet Photographer..... or a Youtube Photographer.?
I have no idea who this guy is, but this sounds bizarre and creepy beyond words.
After stumbling on this guy, i see there are Photographers that seem to make more videos about photography than they do actual photography.
Pardon me for not knowing any modern day names, but.....if you are Helen Levitt or David Bailey, how would you ever have time to be on Youtube over and over again.?
Anyway, it sounds like he might be in hot water. It seems the FBI is investigating him.
I watched some of his videos from a few years ago. He strikes me as arrogant and creepy, if i can use that word again.
My immediate impression on seeing some of Lanier's videos was that he was an utter pillock and charlatan, as are many of the self-professed photography experts on Youtube; all flash and very little substance. There was also always a distinctly lecherous vibe about him in the videos, so as I said such behaviour on his part wouldn't surprise me in the least.
As a retired justice of the peace , I would advise we keep the talk to photography andl let the proper authorities handle these issues. Today I am taking photos of my garden with an Instax camera and enjoying life. All the best, Charles.
We ARE talking about photography.
This sub-forum is tilted "Photographers". The guy in the OP is a photographer, and he seems to be in a type of photography that is mostly Practiced on The Internet.
Regards your comment.... "let the proper authorities handle these issues." Is anybody suggesting otherwise.?
I think it helps to bear in mind that youtube is a relatively easy place to make a little (or a lot) of money. If one posts content on youtube regularily and builds a following, then the money flows in. One of the implications is that...well, its all about likes, subscribers and money.
This guy might very well NOT be under investigation by anybody...that **might** be made up....drama and thus more repeat visitors...likes, subscribers and $$$
it is all about the money and you've just helped him in a small way.
The thread title was close enough to my name that I wondered if I had done something I shouldn’t have after a few drinks sometime in the past, but that guy looks nothing like me. Whew!
Sorry ,I didn,t mean to sound pompous. I just think that cases of alleged sexual abuse are not a fit subject for internet chatter from us who know nothing of the facts, along the lines of whether a person looks guilty or creepy. I,ll shut up now. All the best, Charles.

That's funny....time will tell, or maybe not.
I have never met the guy, i have seen him on Youtube throughout the years. I could never put my finger on it, but he always gave me a "weird" feeling.
From friends that follow A LOT of Youtube photographers; i started hearing rumors about him and models a year or two ago. At first it was just a person or maybe two. Now there are several involved.
I am not on a crusade to ruin the guys life. If this is bad content i will happily delete it, or one of you guys can ask the Forum Owners to make the call.
The world is full of out there photographers, never heard of this guy but this is nothing new. I knew of a local photographer who years ago would give his business card out to teenagers in the mall to do "modeling shoots" .. this whole thing reminds me of the politician in Georgia trolling the mall for teens.
Maybe his next set of videos will be "unboxing" videos of carepackages he recieves in "the klink"
