I am new here, so I am sorry if this is not the proper forum for this discussion.
I was out shooting sun sets in Hawaii a day ago. Having only my one camera (Pentax SuperProgram) I was swapping lenses every few exposures. I had just taken a wide angle on the ridge/coast line I was on and wanted to switch to my telephoto for some shots of a far off lighthouse. When I toggled the lens release I found that my wide angle lens would turn the 1/4 turn it would typically make, but would not come off the body of the camera. I do not recall having any difficulty putting the lens on, and I feel no resistance rotating the lens on the body but there is no give when I try to pull it off the body.
I am hoping some one might be able to point me in the right direction as far as repairing this. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using any AF (auto focus) lenses with this camera? The early Pentax AF cameras/lenses used the screw driver system. In some cases the female end of the screw driver mechanism on the lens would get stuck in or against a pin/contact in the mount. Another possibility? Do you have any of the Ricoh P 'K' mount lenses. These have an extra pin which can also case the lens to get stuck on a Pentax K body. If one of these thingsi s causing the problem you might be able to take a few sheets of stiff paper and jam them in between the pins/contacts of the lens and camera to allow the lens to turn. Is it possible that you turned the lens too far when mounting it?

Is the index mark for infinity on top aligned when the lens is locked in place?
