That is from my weekend shoot at a WWI re-enactment. I went to the lectures and then slogged through the mud (camera bag is now officially broken in!) to take some photographs.

That particular photo is from the roll that I improperly put into the Brownie box I have. I didn't get the paper tight enough on the take up spool so when I went to take the film out of the camera to put in a fresh roll, I had a spool of very very loose paper and film. I developed it anyway and that's the only shot that came out from that roll.

After the contact print sandwich marathon in the basement bathroom (and bruising my knees on the toilet/sink/shower), I was able to get a decent contact print - and then I wasn't satisfied. I wanted MORE.

So I brought out my water color pencils, my resin doll paint brushes, some Q-tips and the pastel chalks. Oh...and a magic gum eraser was also used.

Why have I gone truly crazy?

I want to take my pinhole cameras (preferably the larger ones I've made - up to a box that holds a ream of Xerographic paper - which will hold two 8x10 sheets of paper) and then turn those negatives into a contact print. (Yes, I realize it's a horribly long exposure time for that. I'm willing to punish myself in the name of fine art and creative self-expression.) THEN turn around and tint those.

Just thought I'd share. It seems that the world has opened itself up to me now that I know I don't just have to "do digital" or even stick with 35mm or 120 film with no enlarger (yet - YET! I'm working on that).

Then again, the more convoluted ideas that I have, the more fun it seems - hence the "gone truly crazy".

Does anyone else ever feel that way? The crazier you are the more fun it is?

P.S. Sorry about the low quality of the reproduction of the photo. I used my digital to take it. (I tend to use it more and more for that purpose - a quick shot and then onto the serious stuff - FILM!)

Cool! I think the light leaks are a plus in this case - add to the old time feel of the image.
