It's on again - Print Exhibition

Yes 12 months has rolled around and the annual Melbourne Camera Club Traditional Print Exhibition is on again this weekend ( 30-31st). Opens 10 - 4.30 at the club rooms which are on the corner of Ferrars and Dorcas St Sth Melbourne. So grab yourself a coffee and call in for a look.

I must return to Sin City on Saturday and will endeavour to call in to this exhibition. I quite enjoyed the display last year and formed the opinion that SMBooth's monochrome work was a notch well above a lot of other work going around. Inspiring work considering his limited time to follow his craft.

Some very interesting work there indeed, a mad variety of processes, and some shadowy subjects Very pleased to see this continue and especially when most of the names I don't recognise (means there are lots of new people). Had a nice chat to Barrie B and Kerry, and a nice al fresco lunch/coffee at a hipster café around the corner...

Glad you enjoyed it Mark, yes lot of newbies, I think approximately half the prints were made by people that had never developed a film this time last year.

Quite an achievement to learn to develop and print film as well as present the print in an exhibition. Technique with some people is easily come by, whilst with others it may take a little longer.

I liked the exhibition and wondered about the outcome, if any, of the tick the box forms?

My people repellent is still doing it's job - I managed not to bump into any of you, so you'll just have to take my word for it that I went, also. I've very glad I did.

Shane, I inadvertently voted for two of your prints. I say "inadvertently" because I made a point NOT to look at the names beneath the prints as I walked around, not wanting to be biased in favour of someone I've met before.

Why is all the good stuff in Melbourne?

Mr. Mathison, my trip into Melbourne involved a car trip, a train trip and a blister-inducing walk. Insert a plane into that scenario and you could have come along as well!
