Since my last ad went over so well (sarcasm), here's some more for the market. I still have way too many cameras...
Thinning my herd-- here's the deals and the issues:
Agfa Karat with 50mm f/3.5 Solagon. THE GOOD: Camera is in great shape, lens takes AMAZING pictures. Shutter seems good-- all my test shots were correctly exposed, but it was high noon in Los Angeles, so didn't have a chance to try the long settings. They sound perfect, though, with no hang ups. THE BAD: Focus ring is tight near infinity, very typical Agfa problem-- their grease goops up after all these years. A CLA and this one is a total gem. 75 damn US dollars, shipped in the CONUS.
OLYMPUS 35SP, silver, with 43mm f/1.7 Zuiko and battered case. THE GOOD: still the only SPOT-METERING rangefinder ever, and it WORKS FINE on this one. Lens is clear, film tested, takes great pictures. All speeds sound great. THE BAD: film advance lever has small issues-- the retainer thingy (with the two holes for a spanner) comes loose and has to be retightened every once in a while. Also, the wind stop seems to be disabled, so you can pull unexposed film past the lens. The frame spacing is spot on, so no major issues. Again, a CLA gets you a real gem. 100 damn US dollars, shipped in the CONUS.
Vivitar 35EE, in the box, with Vivitar 38mm f/2.8 lens, case, strap, some literature. THE GOOD: camera and case seem to never have been used. THE BAD: the case lining is coming out, despite looking like it's never been used. The camera has never been used by me, selling untested. 50 damn USD, shipped in the CONUS.
Open to offers as well, best offer wins, of course. Anybody outside of the CONUS will pay more for shipping.
