I was thinking about organizing a new round of Lith Exchange and had contacted Jervan about it.
My basic idea: a chain, everybody sending one print, can be a blind exchange or open, as participants desire.
Cycle: 1 month recess & signup, two months for printing and sending
Minimum requirement: one 18x24 cms / 8x10 inches analogue lith print or equivalent (in the BPX, there was a question whether a set of miniatures would do, that is what I am referring to as equivalent), everything else like de-spotting, mounting, matting etc. is optional
Exclusion: no inkjet print, but hybrid process is fine, of course.
Assignment: No particular, but if anybody is interested, we could discuss it?
I was also thinking about a joint Lith & Alt Exchange. I am aware that “Alt” needs some definition, but I was thinking about any hand coated substrate printed on permanently (i.e. fixed. I do appreciate e.g. unfixed salt prints, but in this context, they are simply not practical). I was thinking along the general lines: salt / albumen / handcoated emulsion/ Plantinum etc./ Carbon etc. / Orotone / Cyanotype / similar processes. Hybrid process is fine, but the final print should not be inkjet.
Would you be interested in that, what do you think?
