I generally don't comment on listings but in this case I did it as an educational thing for you Debdip. If you are going to sell in North America or Europe you should know what our perception of condition is. Your right you might be able to rate that lens as a 9 in India but if you do that here it just makes you look either out of touch or dishonest. I don't think for a moment you were trying to pull one over on us so take my comments as just helpful hints.

I don't usually comment either but given that I obtained the same lens in 1.7 for about £50(say $80) in the U.K. which was certainly cosmetically better than yours and optically is mint then you might want to look at your selling price. Yes I realise that 1.2 has the bigger aperture and may be the rarer of the two lenses but the real question is: is there anyone here who wants one and is willing to pay what you are asking/

For what it is worth this isn't an under-handed attempt to get you to lower the price because I am interested in it. I am very happy with my 1.7

1.7 vs 1.2 is apples and oranges It's silly to compare price of these two entirely different lenses.

It's actually no one's business what the OP is asking for his lens.

You are perfectly correct in stating the rules but I had thought that the posters and I wasn't the first but I include myself were trying to give the OP helpful advice. I thought I made it clear that I realise the 1.2 isn't the same as the 1.7 and is no doubt worth more

I am not clear why it was part of my post you quoted as opposed to simply stating that according to the rules we all should have simply not posted at all according to the rules. Maybe my post was the "straw that broke the camel's back" in terms of breaking the rules as applied to the classifieds.

No need to reply to this. The OP can ask what he wants and can state the condition as he sees it. It is as you say his business
