I have an Ilex-Caltar WA f8/90mm lens that requires a push on filter holder, lens is not threaded for one. Outside diameter of lens is 2 3/4" Ilex chart shows their designation as M-9 , I can't find one.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

B&H has this for $10 not including the filters. It works fine for me with even my 65MM wide angle lens.
LEE Filters Gel Snap (4x4" Filter Holder) for Lenses up to 82mm
with an Elastic Tension Device (wide rubber band) that fits over the outer edges of the lens.
Tip: Use it mounted with the rubber band horizontally rather than vertically if using a graduated filter.
available as 3x3 or 4x4

Thanks for that, something I'll keep in mind. I have a set of 67mm filters in my kit for other lenses along with step rings, I thought I might be able to get an adapter to utilize them with this lens.

I had a push on Delrin adaptor made, for an Imagon. The other end was threaded for a filter of appropriate size and I got an old B&W brass filter, punched out the Glass, screwed that into the Delrin adaptor and leave it on,and use those threads to mount my required filter on.

67mm is the same size as series 8 (go ahead measure it, I'll wait:whistling:). The thread pitch is different but you can probably find a push on series 6 or series 7 adapter and a step up adapter for series 8 fitting. Or to 67mm.

Thanks to some brainstorming with a couple of great people here, I have ordered what I need to make an adapter.

Thank you all.

While a 67mm filter slips inside the hood of the lens, there are no threads, and the outer diameter of the hood is 70mm. I am trying to either buy or fabricate an adapter to slip on to the hood, so I can thread my 67mm filters onto it.
