ISE 35mm Contact Printer vs Print File Sheets

Have you used an ISE 35mm Contact Printer?
Do the contact sheets show the frame numbers?
Any problems with the top plate NOT being glass?

I have a Paterson and the slots are coming unstuck.
Am considering alternatives eg printing in Print File sheets.

Your experience and advice is much appreciated.

When I still made contact sheets, I simply put them in a transparent Print File negative sheet, put the negative sheet on the photo paper and a piece of (plexi)glass on top of the negative sheet. That worked well.

Print file is very handy, and I figure the negs are going in there eventually. And the cool thing is, any data you write on the white strip tends to print through as well.

What I don't like is the images seem a bit soft, the plastic under the negs seems to act like a diffuser. I often consider a contact printer, but I do mostly 120.

I don't like contact printing through the plastic PrintFile sheets; it degrades the image too much, even if I'm just using the contacts for evaluation purposes. I just lay my negatives on a sheet of paper and place a sheet of glass over the top. I guess if I had lots of small neg strips I might find arranging them on the paper too fiddly and get a proofer. With 4x5 and 120 I don't have problems.
