I discovered it by chance, and at 10 USD for a paperback copy, it's affordable too. At the moment, I'm away from home, and can't compare old vs new English-language editions to see whether this is a reprint of the earlier, out-of-print book, or a new, English-language translation:

amazon.com/dp/B0BCQDMZHN

Based on a 1961 text, you're not going to find any hints regarding electronics, and unless new content has been added, neither will you find mention of Zenit-E, which didn't arrive on the scene until late late 1960s. But often, there's enough commonality between older and newer models, to make the book relevant even when working on newer cameras, such as a Zenit 212 or 412, both of which were produced as late as 2005.

Thanks for the link! Great! It's even available through my Country's Amazon page (for cheaper shipping!)

I ordered it. It's a print-on-demand copy but excellent quality. "Manufactured by Amazon.ca" -- in a town 15 minutes from me.

I got my copy yesterday here in Central Europe. Good quality print, the soft cover is a bit 'meh', but the contents are clear and well-bound.

Now if they would reprint the 2 Volume set "Modern Photographic Processing" by Grant Haist...

Since there is so little specialist literature on the subject of camera repair:

Would the book also be useful to learn basic/general repair techniques, not just those for USSR cameras?

I believe so. It covers a number of different specific cameras but these end up essentially being camera types. So, what you can learn about the specific camera can, for the most part, also be applied to other cameras that are like it.

For example, if you learn how to repair a Fed 2 (it's in the book), even though a Leica III is somewhat different, nothing will be unfamiliar. There will be little tricky things specific to other cameras, but you have to learn to watch out for those, anyway.

Just ordered.
