Is this LCD compromised?

Suddenly, I got these "bird feet" on the top left display of a Nikon F4 LCD. Changed the batteries, but it still is the same.

The LCD is all right otherwise, and so is the camera. Any ideas ? Thx!

That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen on an lcd screen. You say this happened all of a sudden?

Quite suddenly, yes. Not sure, but isn't this part of the LCD housed in the prism? I know the LCD is part housed in the prism, part housed in the camera, but no idea which is where located.

Try removing the prism and re attaching it. Could be a connection issue.

I've got a couple of those on my F4, too. Same display. LCD still works fine, but I suspect it is the beginning of the end of the display. How long it will take...who knows?

It looks like the marking is in the illumination 'optics' and not in the LCD itself. Time will tell.

Exactly. So pay no attention to all those crucifixes and keep on shooting.

Woah, interesting - all them being angular. Crystallization, meaning liquid crystals turning to solid?

No idea. It may have to do with a possible short in the circuits somewhere, as I have experienced some issues with the MB20 (wobbly). If it's that, I'm guessing this is not reversible.

It is a very unusual occurence. All the ones I have seen which have had issues have that lcd bleed look. Nothing like this.

It's a weird pattern, did you take a close look at the windows on the prism and the body? Maybe it's something on them and not the LCD itself.

Mine did something similar on a cold morning, went away when it warmed up.

Is there a common LCD screen that'll work as a replacement for what that cameras wearing now?

With so very many electronic displays out there, I should think a non Nikon replacement would be simple to source, no?

I really have no idea if that is even possible. Probably a repair shop would know. Thank you for your input, appreciated!
