Ok so I recently put a roll of 120 through my pinhole camera and had it in mind to dev it yesterday. Whilst I have some already mixed up, I noticed my sealed packs of ID-11 powdered chems were bulging a touch. Opened them both up to find this:

The part B sachets are bulging to the point of almost bursting. Part A is normal and as you would expect it to be in a sealed sachet.

Now, I can easily get a refund for these, so that is not the issues... instead I am more curious than anything else to know what could have happened here. Would appreciate any input

This can happen when the chemicals in a packet were exposed to moisture before they were sealed. After sealing a chemical reaction began generating a gas, probably carbon dioxide, which caused the bags to expand. I would not attempt use them and would ask for a replacement.

Looks like you live at an extremely high altitude, or are suffering from a huge low pressure weather system. Perhaps both!

I'd suggests you release the pressure in these bags slowly.:surprised:

If it were an air pressure problem the A packages would also be affected. According to the poster it is only the B bags.

Thanks for your reply, that would indeed seem logical. I'll have no problems getting a refund for these, and I have some rodinal to start using as well, so a straight refund it is

Might seal them in a plastic bag and put them in the fridge or freezer... at least then the reduced pressure will lessen the risk of them bursting.
