The answer is "it depends".

It depends on how accurate and what hardware/software you are using. We at ColorQuick have been wrestling with this problem for some time now. We've heard from designers that they want visually accurate results without killing themselves on learning color management or buying expensive equipment.

Therefore, we are pleased to announce that our new free RIP software, Veroproof can produce visually accurate color right out of the box without calibration. Plus the Veroproof paper comes preprinted with a visual reference bar. When your proof is made a second color bar is printed --- just compare the two bars with your eyes, if they match your proof is good. The printers we currently support are the Epson 2880, HP 8850 and HP 9180.

Find out more about this breakthrough software at www.veroproof.com or just drop me a line at slevy@colorquick.com for any questions.

Regards,
Scott
