Hi everyone,
I shot 4x5 using the latest readyload holder from kodak.
It works like a charm. Only downside for me is maybe the price. about 75 dollar for 10 sheets. I saw a pack of quickloads for only 65 for 20 sheets. That's a big difference ...
One other thing is that Kodak only makes VC negative film sheets, whereass FUJI sticks to the NPS, so lesser saturated film. I like NC over VC, so I might like NPS over VC too.

Can anyone confirm my observations, and if someone can, Why would anyone pick KOdak readyload over FUJI quickload?

thanks for your reactions. Kind regards Game

Dear Game,

In the U.S.A., Kodak Readyload 160VC comes in 20 sheet packages. The price difference between Fuji and Kodak seems to depend on the vendor (and possibly their stock). I've seen as little as $5 and as much as $20. In any case it would seem well worth it to try a box of each as there are only two choices in that category.

Tougher choices for 4x5 colour negative, so I agree that Fuji does seem to have a slight advantage on price in some markets. However, I have trouble getting local C-41 processing of 4x5, so I tend to only use E-6 films. When you compare Fuji and Kodak E-6 prices in these fast loading systems, they are closer.

Another thing is short dated or recently outdated films at discount. There seem to be more Fuji choices on EBAY, than Kodak choices. I am not sure if that indicates anything about usage patterns, nor purchasing.

Ciao!

Thanks for the replies,
I still only have the readyload holder, so I won't be able to properly test NOS quickloads I might buy one if I have some more cash and sell the system that I found less attractive, regarding results en price.
If anyone has some extra comments here, I'd love to here them.
Thanks Game

The general consensus is that Quickloads will fit happily in Readyload holders (but not the other way around).

Cheers, Bob.
