Strictly speaking, the cat is a tripod (camera support), although a rather wobbly one! A moderately interesting idea, essentially the same as any other randomly produced pictures, unfortunately there is not much sense that the pictures are from a cat's point of view. It would have been more interesting if the camera could have be programmed to take a picture once the cat had been motionless for a certain number of seconds, at least then in a way the cat would have been choosing what to take!

You bet that cats' a photographer, better than some in my humble opinion. I would love to see it switch to black and white film though. And it can send it in and not be required to get into the wet darkroom as it is naturally opposed to.

Some of the images are striking simply because they're taken from unusual vantage points (mainly low ones). IMHO, that's a lesson that's useful to many a photographer. I've found that getting down low, particularly with a wide lens, often produce a more striking image than one of the same scene taken at normal adult human head height.

But I have a friend who years ago who rescued a cat that was hit by a car & had a leg amputated. He didn't hesitate to name it Tripod...not the first person to do that I'm sure, but one of those lemonade stories.

I thought it was rather cute myself. My cats wouldn't want anything like that around their necks. All they want is a good neck scratch every now and then.

Forget the low vantage point, slap on some Hovis or Wonderbread as you call it across the pond and you've got some interesting aerial photography.

My two cats stay indoors. I've lost too many fine felines to mean dogs outside. This could be tried on my Australian Shepard. Alas my poodle is blind now.
