Is 120 Fuji Reala Actually Discontinued?

Well, I am living overseas now and I dont want to contemplate shipping vast quantities of film back home should my ex-pat assignment end. Plus, I'll never live in as photogenic a place as China so the better images are to be had now, not later.

I stockpiled enough 35mm Reala to last 3 summers if I lived in California or 30 summers here in the UK!

I don't really shoot much color, but reala was probably my favorite color neg film. I don't see it sold around here in the states anymore, and the eBay prices are jacked up.

You are right, I am sure I googled it a little while back and it was out at all the places I checked. B&h lists as discontinued, amazon at $37 ouch!, and freestyle at $25 but low stock call in.

Yes in the UK its gone along with provia 400 x superia 400 in 120 and there is another one ready to drop too :-(

It hasn't gone only 135 size has, there's acres of 120 about, I just bought a load (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

The poster citing the loss of Reala and Superia 400 in 120 may be basing this on the latest announcement on the AP website dated Friday 26th July which quite clearly states that both of the above have ceased production. The fact that there are 5 links to retailers who hold existing stocks of such film does not in itself invalidate the poster's assertion.

If AP has been told that Reala and Superia 400 in 120 has ceased production then this would seem to be a good source of information.

There seems no end to the Fuji discontinuations. Sounds like Michael Corleone's announcement of the end of the other heads of the five families in NY after he had arranged their demise

The Fuji U.K. website still doesn't carry an announcement on the loss of Neopan and Provia let alone anything on Superia 400 and Reala in 120 despite an assurance I received from a spokesperson there a few days ago that something would go on the website

Is Fuji U.K. so demoralised that it cannot be bothered to keep customers informed and its website up to date? It certainly looks like it. Maybe the spokesperson is too busy working on his CV in preparation for his own departure.

Fuji Reala is definitely gone from the Chinese market. For the past several years Reala was EASY to find, available where any film was sold. Now, it is impossible to find except online which is surely old stock. My "film guy" has told me Fujifilm will no longer accept any orders for Reala. I would have bought enormous stock if I had known it was going away as I love the color of this film. That is disappeared so quickly from the stores was a huge shock to me.

The fact is that you can't believe a thing Fuji say, with one breath they are proclaiming their undying commitment to continuing producing film and with their next breath announcing half of their film products are discontinued, I can't help thinking of the historical parallel with what happened before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour.

I was thinking about Kodak and their proclamation of their undying commitment to film and all the film lines they axed, including the entire E-6 line.

Oh how true it is! I think the only film companies that can be trusted is Ilford and Adox.
